Day 2
The World's Largest Rocking Chair. It actually rocks. We didn't try it...
World's Largest Wind Chime. It wasn't very windy (wait, who's Wendy? She sounds hideous!!), so we had to pull the cord ourselves.
The World's Largest Mail Box. Doug and I actually mailed postcards from here to our houses. His got there before we got back, mine took 9 days. Go figure. Anyway, when you put the mail in a slot in the top, the flag on the outside raises automagically!!
World's Largest Wooden Shoes. They look comfortable.
World's Largest Pencil. I wanted to carve the World's Largest Teeth Marks in to it, but Kelly and Doug thought that might be a bad idea.
The World's Largest Midgit in the World's Largest Bird Cage. Oh wait, that's Kelly. Oops! A piece of mulch wedged in the lock for the cage door was no match for her, she escaped!!
Minions!! She's on the curb and STILL doesn't reach as high as the two other minions. I have no idea why she's giving the peace sign.
The store that holds the World's Largest Crochet Hook and the World's Largest Knitting Needles was closed. Look carefully and you'll see our thumbs-up!!
Not the World's Largest, but just a big ear, holding Doug's glasses up. And some corn.
World's Largest Wooden Gavel, with the World's Largest Gavel Striking Block (what's that actually called?) and the World's Largest Bottle Bat (is this a sport? Smashing bottles with a bat?) in the fuzzy background.
World's Largest Baseball Bat - the perspective makes it look mediocre. It was probably 7' long. Behind that is the World's Largest Spinning Top. It wasn't spinning, so I think that's false advertising.
The golf course that hosts the World's Largest Golf Tee was closed. We decided not to drive the RV to the green, because it was raining and we might get stuck.
HAY!! Is that the World's Largest Pitch Fork? Why yes, yes it is.
Some confusion about which head goes in which hole. Please get your mind out of the gutter, you pervert!
That's better. Thumbs-up approval!!
I was taking this picture for myself, to show my older son the giant turbo on the GTP race engine. Kelly and Doug decided that they needed to be in it and jumped in. I don't think they have any idea what it is, or why they're holding a thumbs-up. Maybe they think it's the World's Largest Hair Dryer.
After seeing so many of the World's Largest stuff, we couldn't pass up the World's Largest Catsup Bottle. We weren't expecting it to be 100' off the ground.
Thumbs-up if you're ready to climb!!
Everyone (actually one guy in a gas station) told us that the place to eat was Fazzeys! It was greek food, and it was excellent!
Our first overnight in a Walmart Parking lot. This proved to be an interesting experience. We decided to use their bathrooms rather than the compact one in the RV, for obvious reasons. That night, winds approached 50 mph with some serious rain and some light hail, and it was cold. It was so cold and windy, that even the crickets had chapped lips (and the Tidy Bowl man was wearing ice skates, but unfortunately, there's not enough water in an RV toilet to actually ice skate). Nothing like being in an RV, in the middle of a parking lot, with tornado warnings in the area. We weren't near any trailer parks, though, so we felt our chances were good. We heard several trains that night, so it must not have affected all travel.
