Day 3

Picture
Day three was about visiting things that were closed. Seriously, we couldn't have planned this any better.

Six Flags was closed for the season. We actually tried to get the guard to let us in, just like in National Lampoon's Vacation. None of us wanted to go to jail, so no firearms were used in the taking of these pictures. I wonder how Doug's armpit smells, Kelly?

When we got to Meramec Caverns, we were informed by this nice lady that it, too, was closed. It never closes, it's a cave. Oh well, we decided to have fudgin' ice cream (we tried to be polite with our language).

The Meramec Caverns gift shop was open!!

Since the cave was closed, the offered us 1/2 price zip line tickets! Doug and I had fun, Kelly filmed us, and that's why she has the thumbs-down below. Apparently, when Doug made a grunting noise when he started turning, hanging from the zip line, Kelly heard a girlish scream. I'm not sure who is right, but when I post the video I'll let the viewer decide.

We never did find the Cavern Queen. We heard she had a deep voice, and her name was Wendy.

Eye see what you did there...

Kelly had to visit the restroom, and Doug and I spotted this water fountain, covered in black plastic bags for the winter (I'm guessing, or maybe it's out of order, or maybe it's a sculpture). Doug leaned over to mimic it, and Kelly laughed when she saw it. Then she pressed his ear and acted disappointed that no water came out. It was then we realized she didn't know it was actually Doug.

We tried to take advantage of every photo opportunity. This was the only one we saw at Budweiser.
Picture
Is that a beer fountain?!?!
Picture
We wanted to have our picture taken with one of the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses, so we lined up for a shot. Just before Doug snapped the picture, the young lady holding the horse made a noise, signalling to the horse to face the camera. This put the horses head VERY close to the unsuspecting Kelly's head, which startled her a bit. And SNAP! Picture taken!!
Picture
Budweiser beer Brats, pretzels, and chicken wings. The beer was pretty fresh, too. So was the server. She had a thing for Doug.
Picture
Doug mentioned that the chicken wings had a "smokey flavor" to them, which i misheard as him saying he was going to smoke a chicken wing. This is his attempt at lighting it. It actually light right up, and he smoked it for a minute. Some guy tried to bum one off of him, so he put it out.

Nothing can go wrong now! Day 4!
